| Introducing the exciting new Distinguished Artist & Scholar Lifetime Achievement Award to honor Master Artists and Scholars of the African Diaspora who have created a groundbreaking body of work that changed the course of art history. The 2004 Awardee is Cuesta Benberry, Quilt Historian of St. Louis, Missouri. The 2005 Awardee is David Driskell, Art Historian and Artist of Maryland. The 2006 Awardee is Elizabeth Catlett, Artist of New York City and Cuernavaca, Mexico. Interviews will be published on the Foundation's website. The 2007 Awardee is under consideration.
